
Kew Selected in First Round of NLL Draft
Philadelphia, Pa. – The National Lacrosse League entry draft was held Tuesday night at Xfinity Live! in Philadelphia. The NLL entry draft featured all 13 league teams choosing from amateur players from collegiate and junior programs around North America.
Former University of Tampa men's lacrosse player Andrew Kew was drafted in the first round of the 2019 National Lacrosse League entry draft. Kew was selected with the third overall pick in the draft by the New England Black Wolves.
Kew had an impressive career at Tampa as he list first in many categories including most career goals (255) and goals per game (3.40). He is also second in career points with 328 and also ranks second in program history with 73 assists. During his final season at Tampa, Kew was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year and earned USILA first-team All-American honors.
After his time at UT, Kew went on to play for the Oakville Rock of the Major Series Lacrosse League. In his rookie season he led the team in goals and tied for first with 28 assists.
