BOCA RATON, Fla. - University of Tampa (3-0-1) men's soccer goalkeeper Ryan Thompson registered his third shutout of the season as his team recorded a 2-0 victory over Truman State University (2-2).
Thompson finished the game with six saves as the junior goalkeeper has now kept opponents scoreless for 331:29 minutes throughout the first four games of the year.
Tampa broke a scoreless tie just before the half when freshman Greg Sasser found the back of the net via a Pascal Milien cross.
The Spartans tacked on another goal at the 52:29 mark when Ryan Maxwell scored the second goal of the afternoon for his team.
UT is back in action on Saturday as it faces NCAA II defending national champion Franklin Pierce at 4 p.m.
