UT Ranks Among Top Teams In Men’s Soccer Attendance
INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA has released its 2009 men's soccer attendance figures and The University of Tampa ranks fourth in NCAA II in average home crowd. The Spartans also rank seventh in total home attendance.
While averaging 513 fans per game, UT boasted a total home attendance of 4,616 in 2009. In nine total home events, the Spartans had a season record crowd of 954 fans against Saint Leo on Oct. 29. In total, UT had four games with crowds of 500-plus spectators.
Tampa is no stranger to ranking among national leaders in attendance as it also ranked seventh in average and No. 11 in total crowd in 2008 for men's soccer. The 2001 national leaders in total attendance were also No. 13 in 2003 among men's soccer teams.
While setting the Sunshine State Conference single-game home mark in volleyball (1,310 vs. Florida Southern, 9/22/07), UT also ranked No. 16 in baseball attendance in 2008.
