Pair of Spartans Earn Spot on Daktronics All-Region Team

BOCA RATON, Fla. - University of Tampa men's soccer player Brian Fekete was named a first-team all-South Region selection by Daktronics, while teammate Ryan Griffin earned a spot on the second team.

Fekete, a junior defender from Plant City, Fla., earns the honor for the second straight season as he was a second-team Daktronics All-American as a sophomore. In 13 matches, he notched one goal and three assists while leading the Spartan defensive unit. Fekete also earned second-team all-Sunshine State Conference mention this season.

Griffin, a senior from Brandon, Fla., led all Spartans with 11 goals while also tallying three assists. Among his goals were a pair of game-winners while he is now a three-time Daktronics all-region member. He was also a first-team all-SSC selection in 2011.

As a first-team selection, Fekete will now appear on the national ballot for All-American honors.
