Tampa Earns Spot in NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS - The Division II Men's Soccer Committee announced Monday the field of 35 teams for the 2012 Division II Men's Soccer Championship, with the University of Tampa among the three institutions representing the South Region.
The Spartans are one of three Sunshine State Conference schools in the regional, as they will meet regular-season champion Lynn University on Saturday at 1 p.m., in Boca Raton, Fla.
Rollins, who will serve as the host, earned the top-seed and will meet the winner on Nov. 17 in Winter Park, Fla.
Two to six teams were selected from each of the eight regions. Teams from the same region will be paired for first- and/or second-round competition, which will be conducted Nov. 8-11 on campus sites. Third-round and quarterfinals will be held on campus sites and completed by Nov. 18.
The semifinals and final will be played Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga., and will be hosted by the Peach Belt Conference.
