UT Alum Pascal Millien Wins Championship With Professional Club
DUBLIN, Ireland - University of Tampa alum and former men's soccer standout Pascal Millien has won the Aittricity League championship with the Sligo Rovers.
The league title is the first for Sligo since 1977. The Rovers have also confirmed that Millien has agreed a new contract with the club.
The Haitian international made 26 appearances in his first season with the Bit O'Red as he helped the Rovers to the league title after joining from FC Tampa Bay.
Millien finished a tremendous year by winning a number of caps for Haiti as they climbed to 39th in the FIFA World rankings, the highest placing in their history.
He starred for UT from 2007-09, where he netted 25 goals and 29 assists in 55 games for the Spartans. He also notched 10 game-winners for Tampa. A two-time All-American, Millien was also twice named first-team all-Sunshine State Conference.
In the UT record book, he currently ranks second all-time in assists and shots on goal (83), third in game-winning goals (10) and ninth in points (79). He also remains the single-season leader in assists after tallying 16 in 2008.
