The University of Tampa Spartans (4-1-1) defeated the University of West Alabama Tigers (3-3) at Pepin Stadium Sunday afternoon by a final score of 2-0. Head coach Adrian Bush captures his 100th win at Tampa joining the ranks of Tom Fitzgerald (145) and Jay Miller (120).
In the 30th minute senior Andrew Clare put the Spartans on the board with his first goal of the season assisted by senior Craig Laird.
With Tampa on the attack, junior Nikolai Hammer managed to connect for Tampa's second goal of the half in the 31st minute assisted by senior Daniel Barboto.
The Spartan's defense shutout the Tigers headlined by freshman Zak Downes with four saves on the afternoon.
Tampa outshot West Alabama 18-9. Senior Alex Knaggs attributed to Tampa's offensive pressure with four shots on goal.
