UT Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 24 in NSCAA Poll
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The University of Tampa men's soccer team is nationally ranked for the second consecutive week. The Spartans come in at No. 24 in the nation according to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II rankings.
The Spartans are now 5-2-1 while outscoring their opponents 13-8. This past week, the Spartans defeated the Florida Southern Mocs by a final of 3-1 and dropped a game against nationally ranked Lynn by a score of 2-1.
Junior Chris Campbell leads the Spartans with four goals, including three game winning goals. Senior Craig Lair leads the Spartans offense with three assists on the year.
Defensively, freshman goalkeeper Zak Downes has put up a .846 save percentage through eight games. Downes has also held four opponents scorless, in 747:24 minutes.
The Spartans head on the road Tuesday for a conference matchup against the fourth ranked Saint Leo University Lions. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.
