WEST PALM BEACH, Fla - The Tampa Spartans men's soccer team dropped a game to the PBA Sailfish Saturday night 4-2.
The Spartans fall to 5-3 and on the year while the no.6 Sailfish advance to 7-0-1 on the season.
First half action was action packed and dominated by the offense with both squads trading goals. Scoring for Tampa was Bay Downing at the 6-minute on a beautiful set piece play assisted by Keith Francisco, and at the 15-minute mark Fredinho Mompremier via PK. Both goals came in the first half where UT trailed 2-3.
Registering goals for Palm Beach Atlantic was Lucas Coutinho with two of the three first-half marks and Neil Slooves.
The second half action played out much like the first as an intense back forth battle, with both teams looking showcase their offense. But it was the Sailfish who came out on top as Lucas Dasilva netted the goal that put the nail in the coffin for the Spartans at the 84-minute mark.
Tampa returns to action on Wednesday taking on rival Florida Southern on the road. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., live stats and broadcast will be available for fans to follow the action.
