TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's soccer team defeated the Florida Tech Panthers Saturday night at Pepin stadium by a score of 2-1. The game served as senior night for seven UT seniors and Homecoming for the Spartans.
The Spartans improve to 9-5 overall and to 5-2 in the Sunshine State Conference.
The first half consisted of a back and forth battle between both sides on the field. Both teams had eight shots in the period. Christian Knight contributed three saves during the half, as neither team scored.
However, the second half of the game contained much more action. Fredinho Mompremier scored his third goal of the season at the 73 minute mark. Almost immediately afterwards, at the 78th minute mark, Florida Tech's Tobias Hilomann tied the match by connecting a score. Monty Berrow earned his fifth goal of the year at the 84th minute mark, sealing the Spartans win.
