Tampa Swimming Dominates Savannah College
Tampa, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams registered victories over Savannah College. With a total of 20 races, the Spartans placed first in 16.
On the men's side, All-American Kyle Merritt won three races, including the 100 and 200 back along with the 200 medley relay with Charlie Berge, Roman Dagash and Greg Cerrato. The 200 medley relay was also one of three victories for Cerrato, who also won the 50 and 100 free. Dagash was victorious in the 200 fly while Blaine Bess (200 free) and Michael Lewis (200 breast) also won one race apiece.
Jessie Bardin swam to victories in the 200 and 1,000 free races while the 200 medley relay team of Katie Shald, Mariesa Hardin, Annie Emery and Madison Flake won their event. Other Spartans placing first in races were Shald (100 back), Hardin (100 breast), Flake (100 free), Susanna Ashley (200 fly), Jennifer Prestifilippo (200 back) and Julie Gauvin (200 breast).
