Indian River State Takes Dual Meet Over Spartans
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams each dropped a meet to Indian River State College at the UT Aquatic Center, with the men falling 153-109 and the women 186-76.
Tampa won both men's relay races, to begin and end the meet, as the 200 Medley team of Karl Burdis, Philip Nordenberg, Runar Borgen and Khalid Aldaboos won in a time of 1:34.16. UT also captured the 400 Free Relay from Aldaboos, Martin Hammer, Damen Pheiffer and Jeremy Parker in 3:07.85.
Burdis posted a pair of impressive first-place performances, putting him among the leaders in the nation in the 100 Back (50.47) and 200 Back (1:52.67). Hammer also gave the Spartans a win in the 100 Free (47.11).
The Spartans are now off until Saturday, Nov. 16, when they welcome Sunshine State Conference opponent Saint Leo University for an 11 a.m., meet. UT will offer a video broadcast through TampaSpartans.tv.
