Spartans Set to Conclude Home Season with Tampa Relays
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams are set to host the annual Tampa Relays, which is scheduled for 10 a.m., on Saturday at the UT Aquatics Complex.
Among the teams competing will be UT, Bowling Green State University, SUNY-Geneseo and Minnesota State University at Mankato.
The Spartan men are currently ranked No. 6 in the nation, and coming off a record performance while winning the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational. The four-day meet include five school record sin relay events as Karl Burdis also added an individual record. Tampa's men also have victories this season over Florida Tech and Saint Leo.
UT's women are No. 13 in the nation, and also won the NSU Invitational over nine other competing institutions. The Spartans have wins this season against Florida Tech, Saint Leo and Lynn.
Following the Relays, UT has one regular season meet remaining as it will head to Rollins on January 11. The Spartans will be back in Orlando for the Sunshine State Conference Championships (Feb. 19-22) before the NCAA Championships in Geneva, Ohio (March 12-15).
