Spartan Pitcher Earns Second Straight Weekly Honor
ORLANDO, Fla. - For the second consecutive week, University of Tampa softball player Heather Van Landingham has been tabbed as the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week. The award is a result of her play for the week ending Mar. 28.
Van Landingham, a native of Tampa, picked up both wins in the Spartans' SSC series victory at Florida Tech. She posted a 0.00 ERA and tossed two complete games, including a shutout in a 4-0 series-opening victory. In that game, Van Landingham allowed just two hits and two walks with one strikeout. In a 3-1 win in game two, she surrendered no earned runs on two hits and four walks. She also fanned three in her second outing.
