Spartans Win Big Over Palm Beach Atlantic
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (13-5) women's basketball team had no problems with Palm Beach Atlantic University (5-16), defeating the visiting Sailfish by a score of 80-42 on Saturday at the Martinez Center.
Tampa never trailed and needed less than seven minutes to push its lead to double figures. UT took a 37-18 lead to the half as the lead continued to build throughout the second period.
Greta Bartkute came off the bench to score a career high 17 points to lead all Spartans. A total of four UT players hit double figures as Moriah Hodge turned in 14 while Juliana Cavallaro and Catherine Matthews each had 11 points.
Hodge also held team honors with six rebounds and three assists as the Spartans outshot their opponent 47.9 to 28 percent. UT also connected on 11-of-22 from 3-point range.
The Spartans return to Sunshine State Conference action on Wednesday at Rollins College. The game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Live stats and webcast will be available through TampaSpartans.com.
