Spartans Set To Welcome Eagles Into Martinez Center
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's basketball team will be back at home on Tuesday, as they welcome in Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University into the Martinez Center. The Spartans enter this game at 1-3, while the Eagles enter at 2-1.
UT will look to snap its three game losing streak, as they have lost to Union, Florida Tech, and Rollins. ERAU went 1-1 last week as they picked up a victory over Palm Beach Atlantic and fell to Florida Tech.
Juliana Cavallaro is leading the way for Tampa, as the senior guard is leading the team with 16.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Last time out against Rollins she posted 23 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds.
Newcomers Elena de Alfredo and Jenny Horvatinovic are also averaging double figures, as de Alfredo is averaging 12 points per game and Horvatinovic is averaging 10.3.
Mercedes Jorge and Sabrina Whiting are leading the Eagles in scoring as they each are averaging 11.7 points per game. Jorge also leads the team in rebounds as the guard is averaging eight per game.
The matchup will mark the first time these programs meet.
