Dori Nagy Earns SSC Player of the Week Honors
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa women's basketball player Dori Nagy has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office.
Nagy garners Player of the Week after being named the Most Valuable Player at the 2021 Mount McKinley North Star Invitational. The Hungarian began the event with 17 points and eight rebounds as UT defeated Alaska - Fairbanks (77-69).
Nagy then recorded a 16-point / 10-rebound double-double in a victory against Southern Nazarene (57-54). Finally, the forward scored 11 points and pulled in 11 rebounds for her second consecutive double-double in a victory over Northwood (61-49). Nagy scored 44 points at the event by shooting 53% from the field (17-32) and 63% from the free-throw line (10-16).
She gave her team 14.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while playing 34.3 minutes per game. The weekly award is the sixth of her career.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of November 22 - 28, 2021. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
