Spartans Wrap Up Play at St. Leo Invitational
ST. LEO, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team took part in the St. Leo Invitational, competing against several top teams from the region. The Spartans finished 14th overall as the UT B team placed 16th.
Host St. Leo won the tournament title, marking the first championship for the host institution at its own event. The Lions shot a 609 in the two-round affair. The event was played at Lake Jovita Golf Course.
UT shot a 747, with rounds of 380 and 367. The Spartan B team came in with an 854, shooting a 438 and 416,
For the second straight event, Kendra Bishop was the top performer for UT. The freshman from Niagara Falls, Ontario, started play with a 78 on Monday and concluded the tourney with an 84. Bishop finished at 162, or +18.
Also competing for head coach Missey Jones' squad was Allie Steffens (182), Stephanie Norman (194), Kelsey Kennedy (206), Erin Knight (208), Chloe Campbell (209), Kirsten Dwyer (221), Kara Flando (228) and Sara Biron (230).
Tampa has two fall competitions remaining, and will next be in action at the Flagler College Slam, beginning on Monday in St. Augustine, Fla.
