Day One in the Books at 2012 Florida Blue SSC Women’s Golf Championships
BRADENTON, Fla. - Lynn posted a score of 616 to take a nine-stroke lead after the first two rounds of action in the 2012 Florida Blue Sunshine State Conference Women's Golf Championship.
Tampa's women are eighth as the tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday at The Concession in Bradenton, Fla.
The Fighting Knights (310-306) placed four golfers in the top ten to build their cushion. Irene Calvo sits in a three-way tie for first with a two-round tally of 152 (78-74). Samantha Smolen is fourth, just one stroke back, with a 153 (78-75). Thalia Baigorria (78-78) and Jessica Bradley (77-79) are tied for eighth after carding scores of 156.
Florida Southern is second in the team standings with a 36-hole tally of 627 (311-316). Nova Southeastern is third with a 634 (326-308). Rollins sits in the fourth spot with a 650 (328-322), while Barry rounds out the top five with a total of 652 (329-323).
Florida Southern's M.J. Audette (76-76) and Barry's Paola Grand (74-78) are tied with Calvo atop the leaderboard with a score of 152. NSU's Lilliana Camisa (78-76) and Saint Leo's Heather Petronis (82-72) round out the top five individuals with a score of 154.
Lynn (310) also led the field after the first 18 holes but held only a slight one-stroke edge over Florida Southern (311). The two teams held a sizeable lead over the rest of the competition.
