UT Starts Season Off Strong at Webber Invite
LAKE WALES, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team started its 2012-13 season with a second-place showing at the Webber Invitational at Lake Wales Country Club.
Kendra Bishop paced the Spartans with a third-place finish as the sophomore shot a two-round score of 153. She opened play with a 75.
Also golfing for head coach Missey Jones' Spartans were Brittany Bradshaw (5th, 163), Michelle Stein (7th, 164), Corrine Camp (13th, 172) and Kelsey Kennedy (24th, 211).
Tampa shot rounds of 324 and 328 to finish at 652, just nine strokes behind champion Coastal Georgia. UT came in ahead of Webber, Thomas and Johnson & Wales.
The Spartans return to action on Oct. 8-9 at the Nova Southeastern Invitational at the PGA National Golf Course in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
