Spartans Complete Final Tuneup Before Postseason
CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team played against its toughest competition of the 2012-13 season and finished 17th at the University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational at Plantation In Golf Course.
The Spartans shot rounds of 341 and 334 to finish at 675 (+99). UT also had a number of individuals achieve top rounds. Cincinnati won with a 604, followed by Bradley (605), Florida Southern (613), Xavier (615) and Seton Hall (616).
The tournament was scheduled to include a third round, though weather forced the cancellation of Sunday's round.
Kendra Bishop led all Spartans with a two-round score of 162 to finish 53rd. Brittany Bradshaw was one shot behind at 163 as she placed 57th. Bishops' second round 80 also represented a top round for Tampa.
Fatin Amin played her best golf of the season, carding a 165 with rounds of 84 and 81. Corrine Camp (185) and Margaret Rich (192) also golfed for head coach Missey Jones' team.
The Spartans will now prepare for the 2013 Sunshine State Conference Championships, which is scheduled for April 14-16 at Lake Jovita Golf Course in St. Leo, Fla.
