Rollins Invite Ends With 11th Place Effort for Spartans
WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team played alongside several Sunshine State Conference opponents in an 11th-place effort at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, which was hosted by Rollins College at Tuscawilla Country Club.
The Spartans registered rounds of 339, 324 and 333 to come in at 996 (+132). Fellow SSC opponent Lynn University won the team title with a 903 (+39). The top six was made up of SSC teams as Florida Tech (913), Rollins (922), Nova Southeastern (940), Barry (944) and Florida Southern (957) followed suit.
Grace Ziamandanis led the way for head coach Missey Jones, carding a 245 (+29) for a 42nd-place finish. Her second round 77 was the top round for all Spartans as it also represented the squad's lone sub-80 frame.
Also golfing for UT was Fatin Amin (247), Brittany Bradshaw (253), Grace Marie Schian (253), Jenee Vanderstyne (272) and Gabrielle Miller (276).
Tampa returns to the links at the Cincinnati Invitational on March 21-23. The three-day tournament will be played in Crystal River, Fla., at the Plantation Inn Resort.
