UT Competes at Lady Moccasin Classic
LAKELAND, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team finished its second event of the spring season, placing 16th at the Lady Moccasin Classic.
The three-round event was hosted by Sunshine State Conference opponent Florida Southern College at Grasslands Golf Course. The tournament included two rounds on Monday with the final round on Tuesday.
The Spartans carded rounds of 324, 333 and 342 to finish at 999 (+135). Rollins College won the team title with a score of 905 (+41). SSC opponents Lynn and Nova Southeastern were also in the top five at three and five respectively.
Hanna Grevelius led UT with a total score of 248 (+32). Grevelius finished 69th overall. Jess Wild (253) carded the best round for Tampa, finishing with a 78 in the opening round. Also golfing for UT was Grace Marie Schian (255), Fatin Amin (257), Alyssa Morahan (258) and Holly Cannon (262).
The Spartans return to action on March 2-3 at the Rollins Invitational. The tournament will be played at Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Springs, Fla.
