Tampa Ends 2016 Season With Eighth-Place Finish at SSC Championships
Alyssa Morahan was the top Spartan golfer.
KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team finished eighth overall at the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Women's Golf Championships.
Rollins College claimed its eighth overall SSC golf championship. Marie Coors of Saint Leo becomes the fourth women's individual champion to win multiple SSC titles. The 2016 event was hosted by Barry University at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne.
Tampa shot a three-round score of 1,016, with respective rounds of 343, 335 and 338. The tournament included a round on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Alyssa Morahan led Tampa with a three-round score of 243. Her second round score of 80 matched teammate Grace Marie Schian for the top individual round for the Spartans. Morahan would finish in 24th place.
Schian followed with a 250. Other golfers in head coach Missey Jones lineup included Sydney Stengel (259), Jess Wild (264) and Fatin Amin (264).
