Spartans Flirt With Top-10 at Saint Leo Invite
DADE CITY, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team competed with the region's top teams at the Saint Leo Invitational, finishing 11th overall.
The two round event was hosted by Sunshine State Conference opponent Saint Leo University at Lake Jovita Golf Club.
Barry University, another SSC opponent, won the team title with a 596, coming in two strokes ahead of Saint Leo. Tampa shot a 638 with rounds of 324 and 314, topping SSC opponents Florida Southern and Eckerd.
Grace Marie Schian led Tampa's lineup with a 154 (+10). Her team-best first-round score of 76 was followed by a 78 in Tuesday's round.
Also golfing for the Spartans were Jess Wild (158), Fatin Amin (160), Sydney Stengel (166), Alyssa Morahan (168) and Holly Cannon (183).
UT has one more fall competition on tap, at the Flagler Invitational on February 6-8. The event will be played at Marsh Creek Country Club.
