Tampa Has Eyes Set on Fourth Straight SSC Championship Appearance
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team will face Saint Leo in the SSC Tournament semifinals on Thursday, April 25.
The Spartans will make their seventh appearance in the conference tournament when they square off against Saint Leo. UT has its eyes set on defending its title after defeating Florida Southern on home turf a season ago and would lock in a fourth straight finals appearance with a win over the Lions on home soil.

How They Got Here:
#2 Tampa earned a bye to the semifinals after finishing the regular season 6-1 in SSC play. The Spartans were a defensive-minded team this season, allowing just 130 goals for an average of 8.11 per game. Both marks were best in the SSC.
#3 Saint Leo finished the regular season 5-2 in SSC play. They defeated #6 Embry-Riddle 15-9 in the first round. Fiona McLaughlin scored five goals to lead the Lions to victory (Box).
2023-24: When these two teams met on April 3rd, the Spartans defeated Saint Leo 19-8 in Tampa.
