LAKE WALES, Fla. - The University of Tampa (3-2-1) women's soccer team came home with a win after defeating Warner University (1-3) 2-1.
The Spartans opened up the scoring when freshman Molly Gottlieb scored off a header when she received a high cross from fellow teammate Dana Palmiotto at the 38:14 minute mark. The Spartans notched their second goal within five minutes of their first when sophomore Brittan Spence scored off an assist from Megan Tobin to put the Spartans ahead 2-0.
Danielle Chapuseau scored an unassisted goal for the Royals in the final five seconds of play to determine the final score.
Tampa outshot the Royals 24-4, controlling play for the majority of the game. Saige Steinmetz in goal for the Spartans recorded two saves on the game.
