Tampa Defeats Georgia College to Extend Win Streak to Four

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (4-2) women's soccer team defeated Georgia College (1-5) by a score of 2-0.
The Spartans dominated the ball in the first half of the game, as they totaled nine shots with three shots on goal. The game went scoreless until minute 18 when Alyson Gregorowicz connected with Samantha Kay from a corner kick. Kay finished the game with one shot on goal and one goal, her first of the season.
In the second half, the Spartan offense started off quickly by a goal from Jazmin Perry, which was her fifth of the season. Perry was assisted by Brittan Spence and Gabby Russo, and would finish the game with four shots and one goal.
Freshman Emelie Karstrom recorded her first career shutout, finishing with three saves. Tampa outshot its opponent 19-6 on the day, including a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.
UT will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 21st when they will travel to Winter Park, Fla. to take on Rollins College at 7 p.m.
