Spartans Continue Conference Play Against Rollins College
The University of Tampa will look to remain undefeated in conference play on Wednesday night.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's soccer team will look to remain unbeaten in Sunshine State Conference play against Rollins College.
The Match: University of Tampa Spartans (5-2-3, 3-0-1 SSC) vs. Rollins College Tars (5-1-3, 3-1-0 SSC)

Last Time Out: The Spartans outlasted Florida Southern College in Lakeland in a 3-2 thriller. Moeko Morse opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, but the Moccasins managed to find the back of the net twice in the next five minutes to take a 2-1 lead. Tampa leveled the score through Syd Griner, who scored her first goal of the season, cutting in from the right side and finding the bottom corner. Morse would deliver the game's final goal, beating two defenders off the left side of the penalty area and scoring her second of the match.
About the Spartans: After her standout performance against Florida Southern, Morse leads the Spartans with a team-high six goals and 13 points. The Virginia native sits in a tie for third place in the conference in goals and ranks fifth in points. The strike force of Morse and Emily Cady has been deadly this season. Cady has racked up five goals and 10 points on the season. The duo have scored in four of the last five games. Nastasia Asgedom has a team-high three assists and sits behind just Morse and Cady with seven points.
About the Tars: Five Tars are tied for a team-high three goals, and senior Jill Richards leads the team in points (10). Richards was one of three different goalscorers in the Tars' 3-1 win against Nova Southeastern University on Sept. 29. Forwards Chynna McGirt and Kathryn O'Brien are just behind Richards with nine points and eight points respectively. Goalkeeper Kelly Roswell is second in the conference in allowed goals per game (0.845 goals against per game) and has made 32 saves on the season.
All-time Series: Tampa leads the series over Rollins 17-13-4, but the Tars have won the last three meetings. The Spartans' last win over Rollins came in 2015 when UT defeated the Tars 2-1 in Winter Park.
