Bio

Trent Frederick joined the University of Tampa coaching staff as the women’s soccer assistant coach prior to the 2023 season after winning the Sunshine State Conference regular-season championship in the Fall of 2022. 
 
Frederick joined the Spartans with a great understanding of the Sunshine State Conference after spending the previous four seasons in the conference at Eckerd College, Florida Southern and Saint Leo University. He served as an assistant coach as his responsibilities included on-field coaching and player development, opposition scouting, recruiting, and game and practice analysis. During his time in the SSC, Frederick has helped produce the SSC Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in 2022.
 
Frederick also has extensive connections throughout the country after serving in numerous roles during 20 years at the club soccer level. Most recently he served as a College Advisory Director and staff coach at Orlando City Soccer School prior to stepping down in February 2023. Prior to joining Orlando City, Frederick served as Asst. Director of Coaching and College Advisory Director for Florida Rush for 10 years, along with serving on the Rush National Select & Regional Select Coaching Staffs; and being a member of the Rush National Coach Mentor/Mentee program. 
 
Frederick started his coaching career at Kansas Wesleyan University where he served as Assistant Men's and Women's Soccer Coach from November 2004 through December 2007. While at KWU, the Men's and Women's program won 4 Conference Championships, 4 Conference Tournament Championships, 4 NAIA Regional bids. During his time at Kansas Wesleyan, Frederick helped coach 27 All-Conference players, 3 Conference Player of the Year, and 4 All-Americans. While at Wesleyan, his responsibilities included on-field coaching, Head Coach of the Reserve team, and recruiting. 
 
On the field. Frederick competed at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS. where he graduated in 2005 and was a 3 year All-Conference player. Frederick holds his USSF licenses and resides in Lake Mary, FL. with his son Austen.
