Tampa Takes Pair of Second Place Finishes at Delta State Invitational
CLEVELAND, Miss. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams completed the three-day Delta State Invitational with a pair of second place finishes. Missouri State University took first place in both venues.
In women's action, UT took second with 726 points while MSU led the way with 970. New Orleans (597.5), Delta State (574.5) and Arkansas-Little Rock (197) also competed. On the men's side, MSU had 938 points to Tampa's 694. New Orleans (619) and Delta State (594) also swam.
Jessie Bardin took the first of three individual championships for Tampa's women as she won the 100 Free following a time of 52.16. Kelsey Lubbers then took the 200 Breast (2:24.53) while Dana Glodek was victorious in the 200 Fly (2:03.97). The Spartans also won the 400 Free Relay with the team of Bardin, Hannah Hudson, Stephanie Branham and Allison Vetter (3:30.39).
UT's men picked up a first-place finish from Roman Dagesh, who outpaced competition in the 200 Fly. Dagesh won the event in 1:52.39.
The Spartans will return to action on Sat., Jan. 3, at the annual UT Relays. The meet is scheduled for 11 a.m., at the UT Swimming Complex.
