Seven UT Swimmers Named Scholar All-Americans
Brittany Bayes joined teammate Makayla Ayers as CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.
NORFOLK, Va. - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected a record 853 swimmers and divers for its Scholar All-America team. Among the selections were seven University of Tampa student-athletes.
Additionally, UT was among the 388 colleges and universities as Scholar All-America teams. To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the Spring semester.
Representing the Spartan men were Khalid Aldaboos, Runar Borgen and Jeremy Parker. TeammatesVictor Philaire and Tommy Reminger each received honorable mention selections.
UT also had a pair of women named Scholar All-Americans, which included Makayla Ayers and Brittany Bayes.
To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective diving qualifying meets.
