Tampa Battles Back on Third Day of NCAA Championship
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Tampa women's swim team continued competition at the 2022 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
- The Women's team is tenth with a total of 111 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The women were represented in all of the events during the finals.
ALL-AMERICAN PERFORMANCES:
- In the 500 Yard Freestyle, Megan Goldthorpe placed seventh with a time of 4:56.03.
- With a time of 2:01.59, Courtney Sherwood finished eighth in the 200 Yard Butterfly.
HONORABLE MENTION ALL-AMERICAN PERFORMANCES:
- Mady Barnes placed 12th in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 55.26.
- Elizaveta Bazarova placed tenth in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:02.57.
- The 800 Freestyle Relay, made up of Goldthorpe, Bazarova, Emma Chestang and Sierra Gillan, took ninth with a time of 7:27.06.
UP NEXT:
The NCAA Championships concludes tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. with trials, followed by finals at 6:00 p.m.. Tampa will be represented in the 100 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke, and 1,650 Freestyle. Fans can watch live and find results on NCAA.com.
