Tampa Sets School Record for Victories With Win Over Palm Beach Atlantic
TAMPA, Fla. - The 27th-ranked University of Tampa tennis team improved to a school record 11-5 with a 7-2 win over visiting Palm Beach Atlantic. The win broke the single-season record for victories in a year, which was previously 10.
The Spartans started the match with a victory by default in the number three doubles event, giving a victory to Caitlin Scudder and Claire Darling. The teams split the other doubles matches with UT's number two team of Allison Beck and Jessica Faber playing to a victory.
In singles, Darling recorded a win by default from the number six spot while the Spartans won the two through five positions as well. Kourtney Stark won at the number two position while playing the spot for the first time this season. Scudder won at number three while Lieberman and Beck picked up victories at the four and five positions.
Tampa is back in action tomorrow as it hosts 15th ranked Barry in a Sunshine state Conference meeting. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
