Tampa Falls to Florida Southern in Meeting Between Ranked Teams

LAKELAND, Fla. - The 32nd-ranked University of Tampa tennis team suffered a 9-0 setback against #15 Florida Southern. The loss drops the Spartans to 12-7 on the season and 1-5 in Sunshine State Conference play while the Moccasins improve to 13-3 and 5-2 in league action.
The 9-0 loss marked just the second sweep against UT, who also suffered the same fate against fourth-ranked Lynn. Kourtney Stark, playing three singles, forced a third set after winning the second set by a score of 6-4.
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday as they travel to St. Petersburg to meet Eckerd. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m.
