UT Drops SSC Opener To Florida Tech

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa tennis team was defeated by Florida Tech in its Sunshine State Conference opener by a 5-4 score. The Spartans drop to 0-3 on the year as the Panthers over to 2-0.
Florida Tech won all three doubles matches, though each were extremely thin victories. The Panthers won by respective scores of 8-5, 9-7 and 9-8 in doubles action.
In singles, Tampa won its two through six matches with Alexandra Arnold, Kourtney Stark, Victoria Bell and Claire Runge each winning. Arnold and Stark each came through with third set triumphs for the Spartans.
Tampa returns to the court on Wednesday in its first road contest, against No. 35 Flagler in St. Augustine.
