Nova Southeastern Pushes Past Tampa
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 41 University of Tampa (0-5, 0-3 SSC) tennis team was defeated 7-2 by No. 31 Nova Southeastern University (4-0, 2-0 SSC).
UT faced a 2-1 deficit after doubles play with the number-one team of Lauren Hewett and Leslie Raymond defeating its opponent by a score of 8-2.
Raymond also accounted for the team's lone singles victory, winning by a 6-3, 6-4 score in the number-two spot. Hewett forced a competitive number-one singles match as she was defeated in the third set after winning the second by a 6-2 showing.
Tampa is back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Rollins College for a 3:30 p.m. meeting with the Tars.
