Tampa Too Much for West Alabama
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 15 University of Tampa (13-3) tennis team won its seventh straight match with a 9-0 win over visiting University of West Alabama (12-6) on Saturday at the Naimoli and Young Complex.
UT took all three doubles matches, including an 8-0 win from the number-one team of Lauren Hewett and Meg Wladimirski. Kelsey Matthews and Lindsay Nochowicz won at two while Chloe Pereira and Thashia Garcia were victorious from three.
In singles, Garcia won the number-one match by a 6-0, 6-0 score. Wladimirski, Hewett, Nochowicz, Matthews and Jenelle Morgan also won their singles events.
Tampa returns to action on Friday at home against West Virginia State University. The match is scheduled to start at 3 p.m., as UT attempts to complete a perfect March.
