No. 9 Rollins Handles Spartans in SSC Battle
TAMPA, Fla. - Playing its fifth straight nationally-ranked opponent, the No. 23 University of Tampa (2-5, 1-5 SSC) tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss to No. 9 Rollins College (3-2, 1-1 SSC) on Thursday at the Naimoli Family Tennis Complex.
Tampa took the number three doubles match with an 8-3 victory from the team of Kelsey Matthews and Katherine Pyne.
Pyne also picked up a victory from her number five singles spot. She was victorious by a 6-1, 6-2 tally.
The Spartans return to action on Monday when they welcome No. 45 Chestnut Hill University for a 3 p.m., match.
