Spartans Win Sixth Straight in 9-0 Victory
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 45 University of Tampa (7-5) tennis team picked up an easy 9-0 victory over Minnesota State University-Moorhead (5-7) on Friday at the Naimoli & Young Family Tennis Complex.
The sixth straight UT victory included decisive doubles wins as each of the six singles matches were decided in straight sets.
In doubles, the top team of Kristen Mee and Kelsey Matthews were victorious 8-1. Both the two and three teams won by an identical 8-2 score, coming from Gianna Pinasco and Emily Hewland and the duo of Cameron Moskol and Jenelle Morgan.
Mee and Matthews both won 6-0, 6-1 in the first two singles events. Pinasco was a 6-0, 6-0 victor as Hewland, Moskol and Morgan also won easily in the four through six contests.
The Spartans will host the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
