As a Freshman: Participated in four events…Finished 28th at the UT Early Bird Classic…Competed in the Florida Mountain Dew Invitational and Disney Classic…Turned in a 14th place finish at the SSC Championships.

High School: Attended Passaic Valley High School where she ran for coach Johnson...All-county runner in track while also being named to all-conference team in cross country and track...Also ran in the Walt Disney World '12 Marathon, finishing fourth in the 19-25 age group.

Personal: Member of the National Honors Society.Daughter of Neil Van Ess and Dawn Terlizzi...Has an older sister (Dara) and brother (Neil)...Exercise science major...Birthdate: 1/22/90.
