Jess Butler Earns All-Academic Status
NEW ORLEANS - University of Tampa women's track member Jess Butler was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as a 2010 USTFCCCA All-Academic performer.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All‐Academic Track and Field Team, the student‐athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division II Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective event.
Butler, a sophomore from Coral Springs, Fla., was an All-American in the women's 1,500 meter race at the NCAA Division II track and field championships in Charlotte, N.C. She finished with a school record time of 4:28.98.
