Tampa Dismantles Bentley In Non-Conference Meeting
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 9 University of Tampa (17-2) volleyball team recorded a straight set victory over visiting Bentley University with a 3-0 victory over the Falcons. UT won by scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-19.
Tampa was led by Camille Hanks and Melissa Vanderhall as each posted 10 kills. Meghan Sherman turned in a team high 29 assists as sophomore Janae Nelson led UT with a pair of service aces.
Defensively, Sherman recorded a team high eight digs while Sam Macks had three blocks to lead Tampa. Hanks and Vanderhall also added a pair of blocks apiece for the Spartans.
UT hit at a .380 clip for the match, including a .519 mark in the second set. The Spartans held the Falcons to a .066 hitting percentage as it forced 20 errors from BU.
Tampa returns to action on Friday as it hosts West Florida at 7:30 p.m.
