Bio

Lea Weber is in her first season as the volunteer assistant coach for the University of Tampa. She received her bachelor of arts in business administration and her associates of arts in marketing from St. Petersburg College. Currently, Lea is pursuing her master’s degree in education leadership at the University of South Florida.

Before attending St. Petersburg College, Lea played volleyball at Valdosta State University where she was a setter for the Blazers. Currently, Weber serves as the head varsity coach at J.W. Mitchell High School. She also teaches at Pasco eSchool, where she is a certified mathematics teacher.

Weber has been coaching at Mitchell for five years, where she has accumulated a record of 154-33. She led the school to the State Final in 2015 and has trained numerous athletes who obtained college scholarships including a total of eight NCAA Division I and II players. She also performed private lessons with local club teams.

Originally from Philadelphia, Lea played high school volleyball at J.W. Mitchell in New Port Richey, where she earned the 6A District 8 Player of the Year, first-team All-North Suncoast, first-team all-county, in addition to being named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year and the Female Athlete of the Year. She was also an all-state selection in soccer as a freshman and a three-time Junior Olympian in track and field.
