Nine Spartan Runners Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors
NEW ORLEANS, La. - A total of six women and three men were among The University of Tampa cross country runners named to the 2008 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women's NCAA Division II Cross Country All-Academic team.
To qualify for All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least 12 semester/quarter hours through the semester of competition at the institution to be eligible. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and have placed in the top 30% of the total number of athletes eligible to compete at the respective regional championships, or in the top 50% of the field at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships.
Alysha Duffy, Jessica Forrester, Dara Fox, Michelle Gabrielle, Sarah Nelson and Heather Nicolosi were the six named to the women's All-Academic team while Kevin Lane, Jeremy Lautzenheiser and Tony Nicolosi were named to the men's team.
