Tampa Finishes at No. 28 in Nation at NCAA Championships
SPOKANE, Wash. - The University of Tampa women's cross country team was No. 28 at the NCAA Division II Championships on Saturday at Plante Ferry Sports Complex.
In the program's 10th appearance at nationals, the Spartans were led by senior Kelly Hagan, who completed the 6k in a time of 22:38.90 to place 85th overall. Claudia Cancello (23:04.80), Danielle Kissel (23:22.80), Vanessa Righeimer (23:33.00) and Elaina Cancello (23:57.00) made up the UT lineup as Chantalle Blundell (24:44.10) and Ronni Mercier (24:46.80) also competed.
Grand Valley State University captured the women's national title with 54 points, followed by Adams State (91), Western State (194), Alaska-Anchorage (214) and Augustana, S.D. (236).
Jennifer Agnew from the University of Mary was the individual national champion as she finished with a time of 20:50.70.
