Spartans Invade D2SIDA Poll at No. 19

JOPLIN, Mo. – The University of Tampa men's basketball team receives it's first D2SIDA National Basketball Poll ranking since the 2012-13 season where they were ranked No. 22. This season the 12-3 Spartans are ranked at No. 19 after a pair of wins over Rollins and Saint Leo. The Spartans have won seven straight games and sit at No. 2 in the Sunshine State Conference. 

Tampa is one of two teams ranked in the Sunshine State Conference, as Barry University continues as the No. 5 team in the nation, previously No. 10. Sunshine State Conference foe Eckerd College is receiving votes in the latest poll while regional opponent Alabama-Huntsville is also on the list receiving votes.

Tampa will travel to St. Petersburg on Wednesday, January 11 to take on the Eckerd College Tritons. The 7:30 p.m. matchup will be played in the McArthur Center with live stats and a live video webcast being made available through www.tampaspartans.com.
