Susan Slater

Bio

Susan Slater joined the University of Tampa staff in August 2024 as an Academic Mentor, providing support to student-athletes by monitoring academic performance, implementing practical study skills, offering tutorial support, and developing comprehensive course plans.

Before relocating to Tampa, Susan spent 19 years as a high school counselor in Baltimore County Public Schools. In addition to her role as a school counselor, Susan served as a Department Chair of the School Counseling Department and a Team Leader for the Traumatic Loss Team. Susan also represented her colleagues as a Board member for the Baltimore County Association for Counseling & Development (BCACD).

Susan is a graduate of Towson University (MD), where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology. Susan then earned her Master of Education in School Counseling, Certificate of Advanced Study in College Counseling, and an Administration I Certification in Leadership from Loyola College in Maryland.
