CARY, N.C. – The No. 5 seed University of Tampa Spartans men's baseball team faced off against the No. 4 seed Trevecca Nazarene University Trojans in the opening game of the NCAA DII Championship Series and came away victorious.
Final: No. 5 Tampa 7, No. 4 Trevecca Nazarene 6 (10 innings)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Spartans struck first in the top of the opening frame with a Dan Sullivan single to right field that brought in Jamarcus Lyons. Luke Glancy also launched a two-run shot, bringing in Sullivan for an early lead. | 3-0 Tampa
- The Trojans put up six runs in the bottom of the first and second innings. | 6-3 Trevecca Nazarene
- The rest of the game was all Spartans. Drew Ehrhard played hero, launching a three-run jack in the top of the seventh to tie the game and force extras. | 6-6 Tied
- Dan Sullivan reached base on a fielder's choice, scoring Ehrhard. | Final 7-6 Tampa
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Drew Ehrhard's bat was all over this one, as the freshman enjoyed a 3-for-5 day at the plate, finishing a triple shy of the cycle, with three RBI and two runs scored.
- Luke Glancy went 2-for-5 with a homerun, double, and two RBI.
- Dan Sullivan joined Glancy with two RBI, a hit, and one run scored.
- Braydon Nelson came on in relief and struck out four batters in 4.2 IP.
- Jordan Leasure earned his third win of the year after a dominant relief appearance. The First-Team All-American struck out eight of 11 batters faced in just 3.1 IP.
