Spartans Sweep Bobcats
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The #1 University of Tampa Spartans sweep Georgia College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Spartans were in business, with Santiago Garavito leading off the inning with a single. J.P. Gates doubled down the right-field line, and Nico Saladino reached base with a walk later in the inning. E.J. Cumbo and Jake Griffith would both follow Saladino's walk with walks of their own to bring home Garavito and Gates. Top 2 | 2-0 Tampa
- After Brayden Woodburn led off the inning, getting plunked by a pitch, and Garavito followed with a walk, Tampa had first and second with no outs. Gates would hit a laser to the right fielder to advance Woodburn to third. Mike Valdez would continue swinging a hot bat with a single to center to bring home Woodburn. Saladino followed with a single to left to bring home Garavito. Later in the inning, Stephen Klein drew a walk to bring home Valdez, and Cumbo scored on a wild pitch. Top 3 | 6-0 Tampa
- Garavito would lead the inning with a single back-up the middle. He would reach second on a wild pitch and third on a passed ball. Valdez would hit a flyball to right field to bring home Garavito. Top 4 | 7-0 Tampa
- After singles from Saladino and Cumbo to start the inning, the Spartans had first and third with no outs. Griffith hit a groundball to second base to bring home Saladino. Top 7 | 8-1 Tampa
- After Ray Mercer drew a walk and Maddox King was hit by a pitch, Klein singled to bring home Mercer, and Anthony Nunez grounded out to bring home King. Top 9 | 10-1 Tampa

- Garavito: 2-4, 3 R, & BB.
- Cumbo: 2-4, R, RBI, & BB.
- Gates: 2-5 & R.
- Saladino: 2-4, R, RBI, & BB.
ON THE MOUND:
- Jake Stipp had his first career start in black and red today. He threw 2 innings, without giving up any runs, allowing 3 hits, and striking out 2.
- Tobin Moran followed in relief, pitching four innings, giving up 1 run on 7 hits, and striking out 6. Moran picked up his second win of the season.
- Jack Brodsky followed in relief pitching a scoreless seventh.
- Beckett White followed in relief, pitching a scoreless eight.
- Nunez followed in relief, pitching a scoreless ninth.
